The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) brings a competitive edge to Massachusetts municipal utilities dedicated to providing their customers with low-cost and reliable electricity. We plan, develop and manage energy resources in an evolving landscape of energy markets, governance and sustainability, requiring high levels of innovation and expertise. For nearly 50 years, as the Commonwealth’s designated joint action agency for municipal utilities, MMWEC has brought the value and efficiency of public power joint action to the state’s consumer-owned utilities.
